Wollongong's Rachel Reidel led the South Coast and Tablelands Swimming Association assault on the NSW nine to 12 years state age championships at Homebush last weekend.

Reidel glided through the Sydney Aquatic Centre pool in fine style and won two gold medals after qualifying for five finals.

The talented youngster won her first gold medal in the 11 years girls' 100m freestyle in a time of 1min3.78sec.

Reidel then swam a time of 2:8.22 to win the 200m freestyle final.

She also finished fourth in the 200m butterfly and individual medley finals plus sixth in the 100m butterfly.

Another Wollongong swimmer, Tara Crisafi was the other South Coast swimmer to win gold at the three-day meet.

Crisafi touched the wall first in the 10 years girls' 100m breaststroke in a time of 1:29.51.

She also won a bronze medal in the 200m individual medley and finished fifth in the 200m breaststroke and eighth in the 100m freestyle finals.

Bomaderry swimmer Amy White picked up a silver in the 11 years girls' 100m backstroke, while Wollongong's Stephanie Sheppard took home a silver from the 10 years girls' 200m individual medley.

Wollongong's Matthew Crisafi was the only member of the South Coast boys' squad to win a medal after he finished third in the nine-years boys' 100m breaststroke.

Among the other South Coast swimmers who made finals were Kiama duo Jess Boles and Peter Knox, Jerry O'Sullivan (Bomaderry), Jason Biro (Wollongong), David Mitchell (Illawarra Red Devils), Candice Kielly-Carroll (Nowra) and Erin Ranyard (Pambula).
