Program Kangaroo Showground - February 16 And 17

Illawarra Mercury

Saturday February 17, 2001

The Illawarra Mercury continues its special feature coverage of the South Coast and Southern Tablelands annual shows with the 116th Kangaroo Valley Show.

Kangaroo Valley - nestled behind the Illawarra escarpment and surrounded by rolling green pastures - primarily is a farming community, despite the gourmet cafes which now line the main street.

The Kangaroo Valley Show gives the wider community a taste of what it is like to be a part of such a lifestyle.

Known as the ``friendliest show" on the South Coast and Southern Tablelands circuit, today's activities include a dog show, dog high jump, woodchop competition, haystacking, ironperson competition, and a rodeo.

The Red Beret Parachute team will also drop in on proceedings at 4pm.

Entry is $8 for adults, $3 for children under 16, and free for those aged under six.
