Program Robertson Showground March 9 And 10
Illawarra Mercury
Saturday March 10, 2001
The Mercury continues its special feature coverage of the South Coast and Tablelands annual shows with the 122nd Robertson Show.
Today's activities include the beef cattle judging, alpacas, championship push bike races and potato races - where competitors have to run laps of the main show ring lugging a sack of potatoes.
For the first time, the show will feature a scarecrow competition, with dozens of scarecrows made by children of all ages.
The show has more than 1500 animals competing this year with 640 dogs, 45 alpacas, 320 horses, 110 beef cattle and 150 dairy cattle vying for championship ribbons.
Tonight's program from 5pm includes a wheelbarrow race, egg throwing, haystacking, pole splitting and a ute bending competition.
Entry is $10 adults; $5 pensioners; $4 children and under 10 free.
