December 19, 1977 Southern Tablelands towns were fighting for survival last night as huge bushfires swept through rugged bushland towards grazing and residential areas. Fires yesterday destroyed an isolated house at Bargo and there were unconfirmed reports that another house at Wilton had been destroyed.
